Our Lady of the Snows
Catholic Church is in the process of creating a unique, outdoor sanctuary
in Leavenworth, Washington
called “Via Dolorosa at The Meadows
of Our Lady of the Snows [The Meadows].” People of all faiths will
be invited to use the area whether they are local residents or one of the
many visitors Leavenworth hosts
each year.
The Meadows, surrounded by the natural beauty of the area, is a
sanctuary intended as a place for meditation and spiritual reflection. It
is set on a 2-acre parcel adjoining the church with open views of native
plants and grasses and the ever-present heights of the Cascade
Mountains. By offering bountiful opportunities to experience
God’s creation, The Meadows seeks
to foster worship and fellowship.
Over time we believe this
sanctuary will become an important site for North Central Washington. In
addition to offering a place for personal spiritual renewal and growth, the
site will be used for retreats, outdoor weddings, worship services, and
celebrations.
